  • What does a home health care aid do?

A home health aid provides non-medical support to individuals in their homes, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. If you or a loved one are looking for home health care services, contact Caring Hearts Home Care Agency NY today.
  • Who can benefit from a home health care aid?

A home health aid is ideal for seniors, individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic conditions, or anyone who needs extra help to remain safe and comfortable at home. Call our team today to learn more.
  • Is a home health care aid the same as a nurse?

No. A home health aid provides personal care and support, while nurses deliver medical care such as administering medications, wound care, and monitoring health conditions.
  • Can a home health care aid help with medication?

Our HHA and CNA certified caregivers provide medication reminders to help clients take their medications on time. Please note that our caregivers do not administer medications — this requires a licensed nurse.
  • How many hours can a home health care aid work?

Services are flexible and can range from a few hours a day to 24/7 live-in care, depending on the client's needs. Get in touch with our team to learn more about acquiring a home health aid for your needs.
  • Do you offer short-term or long-term care?

Yes, care plans can be customized for both short-term recovery (after surgery or illness) and long-term ongoing support. For a dependable home health aid service, call Caring Hearts Home Care Agency NY.
  • Are home health care aides trained and certified?

Yes, aides are typically trained, certified, and may be required to pass background checks, depending on state regulations and agency standards. When you or a loved one needs a home health aid, turn to our reliable team.
  • Can care be provided on weekends or holidays?

Most home health aid services offer care seven days a week, including weekends and holidays, to ensure continuous support.
  • Will I have the same aid every time?

Whenever possible, we strive to provide consistent caregivers to build trust and familiarity, though backups are available if needed. If you're looking for a dependable home health aid, call our team today.
  • How do I get started with home health care services?

The process usually begins with a consultation or in-home assessment to evaluate needs and create a personalized care plan. Once this is completed, we can assign a home health aid to you for your needs.
  • What does “Private Pay” mean exactly?

Private pay means that families pay for our services directly — without using Medicaid, Medicare, or private health insurance. Think of it like hiring a private chef or a personal trainer — you are choosing premium, personalized service and paying for it directly. This gives your family complete control over the type of care, the hours of care, and the caregiver who enters your loved one’s home — with no insurance company making those decisions for you.
  • Why doesn’t Caring Hearts accept insurance or Medicaid?

This is a deliberate and proud choice. Insurance and Medicaid programs come with strict limitations — they dictate how many hours of care are allowed, which services can be provided, and often which caregivers can be assigned. These restrictions prevent us from delivering the white-glove, fully personalized experience that defines Caring Hearts. By remaining private pay, we answer only to you — the family — and to the standard of excellence that every client deserves. We are never forced to cut hours, limit services, or compromise quality because of an insurance policy.
  • Can I use Long-Term Care Insurance to pay for Caring Hearts?

Many families with Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) policies are able to use their benefits to pay for private home care services like ours. Long-Term Care Insurance is specifically designed for this purpose and is different from regular health insurance. We recommend calling your Long-Term Care Insurance provider to ask whether our services qualify under your policy. Many of our families use LTCI successfully to cover all or part of their care costs. Tip: Ask your LTCI provider: “Does my policy cover private pay, non-medical home care services?” Most long-term care policies do.
  • How much do your services cost?

Our rates are based on the type of care, the number of hours, and the service area. Every family’s needs are unique, and we create a customized care plan — and a transparent pricing proposal — during your complimentary consultation. We serve Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and Westchester. Rates may vary slightly by location. We encourage you to call us at (631) 825-0525 for a free, no-obligation consultation where we will walk you through all costs clearly and honestly — with no hidden fees.
  • Is there a minimum number of hours required?

We do have minimum hour requirements to ensure the quality and consistency of care for your loved one. These minimums vary depending on the type of service — hourly care, live-in care, or overnight care. Please contact us directly and we will be happy to explain our scheduling options and find a plan that works perfectly for your family’s needs.
  • What credentials do your caregivers have?

All of our caregivers are certified professionals. Caring Hearts exclusively employs: HHA — Home Health Aides: Certified aides trained to provide personal care, medication reminders, vital monitoring, and assistance with daily living activities. CNA — Certified Nursing Assistants: Trained professionals who provide hands-on personal care, health observation, and supportive daily care with clinical knowledge. Important: Caring Hearts is a non-medical home care agency. We do not employ Registered Nurses (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN). Our HHAs and CNAs provide supportive, personal, and wellness-focused care — not medical treatment.
  • How do you select and screen your caregivers?

Every caregiver who joins Caring Hearts goes through our rigorous selection process. We look first for heart — then for credentials. Our screening process includes: • Comprehensive background checks • Verification of all certifications and credentials • In-depth personal interviews focused on character and compassion • Reference checks with prior employers and clients • Ongoing training and performance evaluation Our founder personally oversees caregiver selection using one simple standard: “Would I be comfortable with this caregiver in the home of someone I love?”
  • Can I meet the caregiver before care begins?

Absolutely — and we encourage it. We believe the relationship between a caregiver and a client is deeply personal. Before care begins, we arrange an introduction so your loved one and your family can meet their caregiver, ask questions, and ensure the connection feels right. If at any point the match does not feel perfect, we will find a better fit. Your loved one’s comfort and trust are everything.
  • What if I am not happy with the assigned caregiver?

Your satisfaction — and your loved one’s comfort — is our absolute priority. If for any reason you feel the caregiver is not the right match, simply contact your dedicated care coordinator and we will arrange a replacement promptly and without hesitation. We take caregiver matching very seriously and work hard to get it right from the very beginning. But if adjustments are needed, we respond immediately and with care.
  • What is the difference between an HHA and a CNA?

HHA — Home Health Aide is specifically trained to provide care in the home setting. They assist with bathing, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, and basic health monitoring. CNA — Certified Nursing Assistant has clinical training in addition to personal care skills. CNAs can perform more detailed health observations, assist with transfers and mobility, and provide a higher level of supportive care. Both are compassionate, certified professionals dedicated to the wellbeing of your loved one. During your consultation, we will recommend the right level of care based on your loved one’s specific needs.
  • What does “Wellness & Daily Activity Support” include?

This service is designed to keep your loved one physically active and mentally positive through gentle, supervised daily routines. It is not medical therapy — it is supportive wellness care that includes: • Light stretching and range of motion exercises • Walking assistance and balance activities • Gentle movement routines to maintain strength and flexibility • Relaxation and breathing techniques • Encouragement and motivation to stay active each day All wellness activities are gentle, safe, and tailored to each client’s physical condition and comfort level.
  • What does “Personalized Nutrition & Meal Preparation” include?

We create and prepare a personalized eating plan specifically designed for your loved one’s health conditions, dietary restrictions, and food preferences. This includes: • Custom meal planning based on health needs (diabetes, heart conditions, swallowing difficulties, etc.) • Daily meal preparation — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks • Grocery shopping and kitchen management • Hydration monitoring — ensuring adequate daily water intake • Special diet accommodations (low-sodium, low-sugar, soft foods, etc.) Good nutrition is foundational to health. We take it seriously and design every meal plan with care, variety, and genuine enjoyment in mind.
  • Do you provide live-in caregivers?

Yes. Live-in care is one of our most comprehensive services. A dedicated caregiver lives in your loved one’s home — providing round-the-clock presence, assistance, companionship, and peace of mind for the entire family. Our live-in caregivers go far beyond basic care. They manage the household, care for pets, assist with gardening, prepare meals, coordinate appointments, and become a genuine, trusted part of your loved one’s daily life.
  • Do you offer transportation services?

Yes — and our transportation fleet is exceptional. We offer three specialized vehicles: • GMC Yukon ATC: A professionally converted SUV with an electronic transfer lift, lowered floor, and gull-wing door — ideal for clients who use a wheelchair but can transfer to a seat. • Toyota Sienna WAV: A fully wheelchair accessible van with a power ramp and tie-down system — for clients who remain in their wheelchairs during transport. • Toyota Crown: An elegant executive sedan with a personal driver — available for full-day or weekly rental for all appointments, errands, and personal outings.
  • How do I get started with Caring Hearts?

All of our caregivers are covered under our agency insurance policy, and every caregiver carries their individual certifications. Your loved one — and your home — are fully protected when a Caring Hearts caregiver is on duty.
  • Can I speak directly with the founder?

Yes. Marta Florczyk, our founder and director, is personally involved in the care of every family we serve. She is accessible, warm, and genuinely committed to being a direct point of contact for families who want to speak with leadership. This is one of the most meaningful distinctions of choosing an intimate, white-glove agency like Caring Hearts — you are never speaking to a call center. You are speaking to the person who built this agency and who cares deeply about your family. Call us at (631) 825-0525 — Marta and her team are always here to speak with you personally.
